Walk The Circle

Previously unreleased tracks by Walk The Circle, recorded upstairs at The Workhouse in the Old Kent Road and elsewhere (including drummer Alan’s bedroom in Fulham and bassist Karl’s ground-floor flat in Camden Town), London 1986-88. A fascinating insight into the creative processes of this most innovative band, available for the first time for the discerning listener.

Raw, unfinished and even discarded songs-in-progress feature (the sound quality in some cases fairly poor, but priceless in that what was captured was the band ‘at work’, hinting at great thing’s to come).

The songwriting partnership of Charlie and Neil, inspired as it often was, owed a huge amount to the input at the arrangement stage of the band as a whole, with Karl and Alan’s ear for what was cool, different and unusual. Together, 4 like-minded musicians who shone very brightly, albeit for a brief but exciting period.
